We have heard from you that there is a need for a group devoted to those who live with graft vs. host disease (GVHD). If you are living with GVHD, please make sure to click "Groups" on your top menu bar, and "Follow" the new GVHD group!
GVHD affects individuals who have undergone an allogeneic or reduced-intensity allogeneic stem cell transplant. GVHD develops when the donor's immune cells mistakenly attack the patient's normal cells. GVHD can be acute, occurring soon after the transplanted cells begin to appear in the recipient, or chronic, occurring at about three months post-transplant, although in some cases it may not develop for a year or more after the transplant. Joining the group is a great way to talk to others who are going through it, get support from LLS staff, and read featured content on GVHD.
