STAT HIGHLIGHTS LLS HELP FOR PATIENTS WITH CONCERNS ABOUT COVID-19

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society recognized the unique needs of blood cancer patients as the COVID-19 pandemic led to concerns about treatment, physician appointments, relaspe and more. On June 16, 2020, STAT published an article by Alissa Gentile, Director of the Clinical Trial Support Center and Meredith Barnhart, Director of the Information Resource Center at LLS.

They discuss the number of patients reaching out to LLS to discuss concerns about their blood cancer and COVID-19 and their approach to meeting patient and caregiver needs, including the impact of the pandemic on clinical trials and the education and resources provided as well as staff dedication to ensuring blood cancer patients have additional support at this time.
