What is LLS Community?
LLS Community is an interactive and diverse online community designed to accelerate change and amplify the collective voice of those living with blood cancer. On LLS Community, you will connect with people just like you who are seeking answers, sharing wisdom and driving change in blood cancer.
LLS Community is part of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), which is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. The LLS mission: cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Who can use LLS Community?
LLS Community is for people living with blood cancers, as well as caregivers, parents, guardians, providers, and supporters. You must be 13 years of age or older and there is no cost to join.
What does it mean when a user has a blood drop next to their display name?
You will notice that some users have a small blood drop next to their display name. This denotes that this user is an LLS staff member or information specialist, who's role it is to provide accurate and up-to-date knowledge of programs, services, and medical information. We are here to support you.
What happens to my data?
LLS Community will ask you questions about yourself, experiences, and opinions. You can chose to answer all, some, or none of these questions. We will store the information you choose to share in a secure place, and will use it to develop and evaluate the need for programs and resources to support you and other patients. The more you share, the more we can learn and drive change. The information you contribute may also be used to provide you with personalized information specific to your condition and stage of diagnosis and treatment. We hope this will allow us to give you information and resources that are directly applicable to you. We will never conduct scientific research using your data without first getting your consent. When you do consent to a research survey, we will always keep your personal identifying information separate from your data. We will never share your information with external mailing lists or other organizations without your permission.

Can I contact LLS for medical advice?
LLS is not a healthcare provider and we cannot provide information to be used as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. We encourage you to seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider regarding any questions about your medical condition, medical devices, or treatment options. LLS Community is not monitored on a 24/7 basis. If you have a physical or mental health emergency, please call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room. Our Information Specialists, who are master's level oncology social workers, nurses and health educators, can assist you through cancer treatment, financial and social challenges and give accurate, up-to-date disease, treatment and support information. What am I allowed to post on LLS Community?
LLS Community is a community where people with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints can come together to connect, share, and contribute to blood cancer care and research.
The community is comprised of members 13 years of age and older. Content should be appropriate for all ages and parents or guardians are encouraged to monitor the activity of their children. We believe that each member is unique and is entitled to their beliefs and opinions. Out of respect for you and for your safety we ask that you refrain from posting the following:
- Anything that appears to disrespect or place judgment on an individual, their opinions, views, information or management.
- Anything that could be construed as medical advice.
- Anything that appears to promote, advertise or solicit.
- Anything that is rude or could be considered offensive.
- Pictures that contain nudity or violent acts.
What is Question of the Day?
Questions about blood cancer, that you answer. We aim to be the most comprehensive library of (searchable) patient-generated blood cancer wisdom in the world. We translate this to influence our program, policy, and advocacy development.
What is it?
Question of the Day is a great way for people touched by blood cancer to learn from others and contribute through answers and discussions. It gives the LLS Community a platform for expressing thoughts and experiences, and provides an opportunity to give and receive support from others.
Who uses Question of the Day?
The patient-driven real-world information from Question of the Day helps drive program development in different ways.
- Insights from Question of the Day can highlight areas that warrant more in-depth focus.
- Stakeholders in LLS Community use Question of the Day to gauge community interest and opinions around a particular topic.
Question of the Day is searchable!
Do you want to:

These are all Questions of the Day. Questions are live for 30 days, but you can always search and review any Question of the Day, including answers and discussions.

You can also use Question of the Day for your own personal assistance! You simply need to be a member on LLS Community. Then, simply submit it through "contact us". The LLS Community team will lend our expertise in creating the question so that you get results that are helpful.

We would be sad to see you go! By law, we need to retain your information. We will continue to use the anonymous data that you shared with us for program evaluation and research data that you previously consented to for research purposes. To cancel your account, email us at email@example.com. Please allow up to 48 hours for complete cancellation.
